The pstools are absolutely rotten about preserving paper size, but I believe that they let you specify the paper size on output, so that may help if all pages are the same size.

Otherwise, use "gv" to view the .ps file and then print it to a CUPS PDF printer (maybe using "xpp" as your print command which also helps).

It can't even

I guess you run into the postscript bug, like me. Check if it
really is a PDF or a PostScript File.
AFAIK there is no patch yet.
