Dear all,
the installation from the repository (bionic universal) fails. guile-1.8-dev does not get installed, here is the output
Selecting previously unselected package guile-1.8-dev.
Preparing to unpack .../01-guile-1.8-dev_1.8.8+1-8ubuntu3-bionic_amd64.deb ...
Unpacking guile-1.8-dev (1.8.8+1-8ubuntu3-bionic) ...
dpkg: error processing archive /tmp/apt-dpkg-install-vQDDSd/01-guile-1.8-dev_1.8.8+1-8ubuntu3-bionic_amd64.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/guile-config', which is also in package guile-2.0-dev 2.0.13+1-5ubuntu0.1
dpkg-deb: error: paste subprocess was killed by signal (Broken pipe)
I have a few questions.
1) How to make it succeed? But pls. see point 2) below
2) The message "trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/guile-config', which is also in package guile-2.0-dev 2.0.13+1-5ubuntu0.1" worries me: I do not remember whether I had installed guile 2 myself or it got installed as a dependency of something else, at any rate I would like to preserve it, i.e. not overwrite guile-config. Is it possible to do it using the TeXmacs repository?
3) If either 1) or 2) are not possible, how do I remove the repository and bring the system back to its previous state? I found instructions on the Internet which did not work for me; I get the error message "Warning: Could not find package list for PPA: ...". Perhaps simply sudo apt-get purge texmacs? Then I will install manually like I did till now.
