Thanks to you and Félix Faisant (who answered me by email) for telling me how to do this.
It works! So my request is already fulfilled :-). I am able to write labels for the y-axis now :-)
I did not have the initiative to check the command by myself, because when I try to use the rotation tool (the one in the "graphic bar") on a text nothing happens. In fact the trees that comes out of the rotation tool do not include the "rotate" macro, so it is another thing.

Dear Joris, dear developers,
it would be nice to have text with arbitrary orientation in graphics. I am working on a plugin to plot functions with TeXmacs graphics (I have already written about it a few times) and I do not find a way to set a label for the y-axis (which should run parallel to the axis).
In case this is already possible please let me know how, I have not been able to find it out! And if not, I hope that it is possible for you to implement it.
