No errors, but the gui is not popping up.
I can further suggest

./texmacs -d -V

which should print in the terminal debugging messages. But it is quite

possible that I won't be able to interpret them, in that case I

apologize in advance.
Seems the problem is still there. Will reset the system, see what happens.
