With Qt5 versions of TeXmacs (the case here), tablets that are used via 
their drivers are supported natively, while they were previously handled 
as generic pointer devices.

Without drivers, in general, they are still regarded as generic pointer 
devices.

Settings are different in the focus bar: for instance with calligraphy 
you may define the aspect ratio and the angle of the pen.

Do you have access to advanced settings of your tablet such as the 
pressure sensitivity? If so then could you try different values, 
including the extreme ones?
