No, they cannot. I'd hate to see part of my text mysteriously
disappear when I try to save my file, for as weak a reason as the fact
I have set the mark sometimes in the far distant past; actually I have
no idea to unset the mark should I want to do so. TeXmacs already has
two keybindings styles; maybe a _separate_ "CUA/Windowsy" keybinding
style would make you even happier?
(Now if I could get TeXmacs not to behave in a "transient mark"
way... That would über-cool.)
