Ah, that's why the PDF were so huge!
I forgot to mention that the PDF are generated correctly on my Archlinux
machine, though, which is using Ghostscript 9.x as well (namely 9.05, same as
on OS X). Strange...

I'm going to try with your patch, anyway, so thanks!
