Hello,

Thank you for the clue,  I tried to make it work this way . Unfortunately, it does not solve the problem.

I wonder why the kind of shell texmacs is using in its loading window does not use a proper encoding in this version.

Hi,

perhaps a solution : in the "edition" menu, choose "preferences". In this, you can choose for "aspect de l'interface" : gnome.

Let us know if this works.

Hello,
thank you for your kind answer.
the installation works well. But I have the same encoding  problem as with the static binaries.

best regards

Bonjour,

If you are running a 64-bit debian 9, you can try to install the from deb
packages you'll find there:

https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=home:slowphil:guile-1.8&package=guile-1.8

https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=home:slowphil:texmacs-devel&package=texmacs

You need to install guile-1.8 first because it's a dependency that debian no
longer provides in the repositories.

Best regards,
Philippe
