Hi Joris,

Will you distribute the server side later? I hope that it could be
decentralized later.

I hope that we can take advantage of SyncThing, which is basically p2p
instead of a centralized server.

Best,
Frank

Hi,

I only advertised this feature so far on texmacs-dev,
since it is still very experimental and the security is rudimentary
(exchanges are crypted, but in a rather blunt way).

Anyway, for those who wish to try, you have to enable 'Remote tools'
in the 'Tools' menu and then create an account on 'server.texmacs.org'
using 'Remote -> New account'. Note that the remote services are only
available through TeXmacs, and not via your browser. After logging in,
the interface should be self-explanatory (see the Remote menu or
the extra icons on the main icon toolbar).

Best wishes, --Joris

Have heard about the TeXmacs Server for a long time. And now, TeXmacs
users are able to chat with each other in GNU TeXmacs 1.99.17.

Dear all,

I am happy to announce 1.99.17. The main changes are as follows:

- Continued bug fixes (1.99.17).
- Improved remote editing tools (1.99.17).
- New style package “comment” for various kinds of comments (1.99.17).
- Lightweight facility for managing user-defined keyboard shortcuts
(1.99.17).
- Improved customizability of item lists and enumerations (1.99.17).

We already discussed the new "comment" package on this mailing list,
as well as the possibility to define light-weight keyboard shortcuts.
Please refer to those messages for more details.

At this point, I also feature-freeze TeXmacs until the release of
version 2.1:
there will be no new features, although there may still be some bug
fixes and
other non-critical updates (plug-ins, documentation, translations,
etc.).

Best wishes, --Joris
