Please give us details about what you are saying.
I think that TeXmacs is usually better in interline spacing than TeX.
For instance, try typing a line like

************************************************ a   **************
                                                  i
            x                                      j
           e
********* e   *****************************************************

This will look correctly in TeXmacs, not in TeX.

I also think that TeXmacs usually does a better job on accents.
Try something like $\hat{\hat{x}}$ in TeX; the second hat won't
be placed at the right place. This "bug" is fixed in AmsTeX and
the user is invited to read 100 manual pages more in order
to learn about that.
