No, actually... LyX needs ERT if the features are not yet implemented in
it. I have used both lyx and TeXmacs, but TeXmacs is more complicated to
make a table (sorry for my dummy). I don't know, because I am only
end-users (I am geologists, don't know about programming or TeX
programming anyway).

Yes, but the interaction between lyx-users and developers and between
texmacs-users and developers is different. LyX-developers/users-list never
answer a dummy question with giving an URL, something like that. Sorry,
this was just my experience with texmacs-users-list a year ago. Now, is
going better...

We hope.

The type setting quality is similar, isn't it? Do you see different
quality between LyX/TeXmacs/LaTeX? I think this not strong argument.

Maybe some people which had a lot of experience with TeXmacs should make a
dummy users-guide for end-users without experience in computer. I have
still problem to make a table with TeXmacs. I have read the User's Guide
but not undertood. I have introduced the TeXmacs in some mailling list of
my cuntry, they said, still difficult to use.
Sorry for my comments.
Best regards and keep a good works,
