That is a well known problem.
Joris has not found a satisfying way to fix the problem and recommand
downgrading to guile-1.4.1 or guile-1.3.4.
You can also apply my patch[1] to make the latest texmacs-1.0.0.21
work with guile-1.6.0.

TeXmacs is NOT a LaTeX front-end and is unrelated to emacs.
