Thanks for answering Stef,

I'm not so sure about the WM or its version. However the OS is brand
new (Linux Suse 8.1 Professional) and newly installed in a new hard
disk. No deviation from the default settings. The system is KDE 3.0. I
have 3 extra WM's, namely enlightenment and two others I don't
remember them now. But I think that the default WM (the one that I see
when I'm loging in) is none of the above. I'm saying this because when
I tried the above mentioned WM's, nothing was the same. Am I saying
something stupid?

Anyway, I need TeXMacs and I'm prepared to do anything to get it work.
