Hey there,
while in general I really like the automatically combining characters, (such
as [-] [>] yielding a right arrow) the pipe symbol "|" combines with very
many symbols, and its combinations have thus far only managed to annoy me.
I do a lot of analysis ATM, and norms and and absolute values are my daily
bread. Thus, if there was a way to switch TeXmacs to "analysis mode", where
the pipe symbol becomes non-combining, that would be pretty sweet. (Even if
the corresponding setting was some magical Scheme hackery.)
Speaking of norms, I have required a three-stroke norm on several occasions,
but the hack consisting of
\left | \left || *** \right || \right |
has a tendency to look hideous, because the single-pipes come out smaller and
not spaced evenly. How would I build such a symbol?
Thanks,
Andreas
