No, you don't need it in effect, this is why inserting images
Answer to 4)
From my experience so far, you don't need any graphic editor inTexmacs at all. All you need to do, finish any graphic figure in any
windows graphics tools such as Viso, Excel, then paste them in the MS
paint, then save as Tiff or Png format. finally insert it in Texmacs.
in supported in TeXmacs since a very long time.
The (vector) integrated graphical TeXmacs sub-editor has been
released recently (less than one month ago), and we hope to
release the version 1.0 soon.
As far as I know, the Windows version is a little bit
late in this respect, so it is quite possible that graphics
doesn't under Windows (I didn't tested recently).
Thus the graphical editor is in effect not needed, but it
is much more convenient, you don't need to go outside TeXmacs
to change your vector images (currently, the editor performs
a function that is quite similar to xfig).
It is also possible to generate TeXmacs graphics using
a script, and in this respect, the new graphical markup
of TeXmacs helps you a lot.
Question 3) I have the same experience, each time I was told toUnder Windows, these tools do not perform as simply as
install Czech meta font. then download, ane makefm failed. Can
developer tell us what goes wrong here/
under Unix, but I don't know much more about that :-(.
This file is a specific config file under Windows, but1)
When i have installed WinTeXmacs, this message appeared :
<<
No plugins\pluginpaths.txt file could be found. Would like TeXmacs to
construct this file automatically ? Please note that this operation may take
some time and is not guaranteed to find all paths.
>>
What does it mean ?? plugins\pluginpaths.txt ??
Is it important ? (don't laugh at me please :-))
I don't know more about this ; perhaps some more windowsian
people could provide a more detailed answer about that.
No, no, it's the appropriate address.2)
Maybe "address@hidden" is not the right address to send
questions about WinTeXmacs. Just tell me if i am wrong and tell me the good
address to ask my questions please.
This one is a Windows install problem, for sure. It is3)
When i make a new section (document style = paper) i get this message :
<<
No TeX system could be found. Documents and fonts may not appear
correctely. It is suggested that MiKTeX be installed for full WinTeXmacs
functionality.
>>
The problem is that MiKTeX is installed !!
probably related to the lack of pluginpath.txt file (I
guess it should probably contain some important paths,
this would thus explain why MikTeX is not found).
As far as I know, TeXmacs handles TrueType fonts, soAnd i remember that someone told me that now, WinTeXmacs is
"font-independent", it doesn't need the TeX fonts. Is it right ??
it should be possible to completely get rid of Metafont.
The problem is that most of the nice LaTeX mathematical
fonts just do not exist as TrueType fonts. This is why
TeXmacs is still sticking to Metafont (but one thing
is (90% :-) sure : except for bibTeX, you don't need
any other part of the (usually huge) LaTeX system.
(Correct me if I'm wrong, here).
Insert/Image/Draw image should work.4)
Sometimes you talk about graphics... I don't understand : there is no
graphics editor in my TeXmacs (maybe because the graphics editor is not
ready in the Windows version, just tell me if i am wrong)
