Don't know about Ubuntu. I have added the dependency on texlive-math-extra
in Debian texmacs versions from 1:1.0.6.11-5 onwards.

So if you install the latest version of texmacs (1:1.0.6.14) in Debian
Lenny/Sid using apt-get, then texlive-math-extra should automatically be
installed as a dependency.
