It is enough to put the assign statement in the preamble of the document where you do not want numbering.

It is enough to put the assign statement in the preamble of the document where you do not want numbering.
Another possibility is to redefine the render-bibitem macro which is called by the standard bibitem* macro.
In general if you want to see the macro definitions just click on the "?" icon in the focus bar when your cursor is in the macro environment.
