1) Well, it took me a while to figure out why the sign (*) of unsaved file was refusing to disappear even after pressing "save file" like one hundred of times: it was just a permissions issue, I restarted texmacs as a root user and I was able to save the file (it would be nice to receive a warning message when the operation of saving a file fails - just a small sugestion).

2) I have noticed that some of the words starts with an uppercase letter, while others doesn't. At first, I thought that it that the translation library used by texmacs was case-sensitive, but words like "new page" are translated as "nova página" and appears in the menu as "Nova pagína" (as it should). Is there any convention that I should use when adding new words?

3) What about this english-portuguese-miss.scm file? Can I simply ignore it and send you (after I have done with all corrections) the english-portuguese.scm file with my editions?

4) What about the translation of things like environments? The translation for "proof" should be "demonstração", but a spelling mistake has being made and all my documents are writing this as "demostração", which is a VERY UGLY thing to publish or give to my students. How can I solve that?

Thanks in advance.

Anderson Brasil.

1) Where should I look for the translation files for texmacs at my computer?

Depends on the operating system. Locate a file called english-portuguese.scm. It should be in $TEXMACS_HOME/langs/natural/dic.

However you don't really need that.

2) Where can I find the newest version of those translation files in trunk?

src/TeXmacs/langs/natural/dic.

Notice that you can also do the following to find out what needs translating and translating it from within TeXmacs:

1. Activate developer tools: Tools->Developer tools
2. Set Texmacs interface language to portuguese (Edit->Preferences)
3. Gather new strings for translation: Developer->Rebuild translations file
4. Edit translations: Developer->Edit translations file
5. Edit and save.
6. Reload: Developer->Force reloading of translations

3) After I update the translation files, the appropriate thing would be to post them here, so someone might "commit" it to the official repository?

Please use savannah:

https://savannah.gnu.org/patch/?func=additem&group=texmacs

And maybe post here so we all get a heads up.

Thanks for the work!

Best,
