It might be worthy mentioning that at the old version of TeXmacs available at ubuntu's repositories, the keyboard was working well but with two annoying bugs.
1) Often, while editing a text inside TeXmacs, keyboard combinations which were supposed to type an accented character stopped working. Leaving the window of texmacs, typing an accented character inside of gedit and going back to TeXmacs usually solved the issue;
2) More seriously, sometimes some specific characters (like the 'minus' character) stopped working and there was no other solution but to save my text and restart TeXmacs all over again.
As annoying as those troubles were, it was still possible to work with this version. The issue at this new version is a lot more serious: in my native language, accented characters appears all the time! As it is now, it is simply impossible for me to use TeXmacs.

Thanks in advance,

I believe that my distro uses ibus by default. At least, the packages ibus-gtk:i386, libibus-1.0-5 and gir1.2-ibus-1.0 are installed in my system.

Are you using ibus?

Just a small thing to add: I've just found this report of an old bug
which seems the same one I've got it:

about it?
