As nobody knows how to solve it, I have created a workaround in order to be able to work. I've deleted the newest version of TeXmacs and brought back the old version from ubuntu's repositories. To be able to export files to PDF without image bugs (the greatest issue with this old version), I have installed the newest TeXmacs version inside a light distro in Virtual Box.

Thanks for all the help, anyway!

I've experimented with using ibus table compose and latex input methods. I found that some unicode characters don't input. The same ones won't register when I paste them in also. I'm thinking that the only way this will get fixed is by somebody who already understands TeXmacs internals to deal with it... I'm learning it but have limited time right now.

No effect :(

Try running ibus-setup. I think you have to use 'root' window input, but try different settings.

I believe that my distro uses ibus by default. At least, the packages ibus-gtk:i386, libibus-1.0-5 and gir1.2-ibus-1.0 are installed in my system.

Are you using ibus?

Just a small thing to add: I've just found this report of an old bug
which seems the same one I've got it:
http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?42753. Really isn't there any workaround
about it?
