Just a small thing to add: I've just found this report of an old bug which seems the same one I've got it: http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?42753. Really isn't there any workaround about it?

Hello. After a long time using the old 1.0.7.18 from Ubuntu's repositories, I've just upgraded TeXmacs to the latest stable version, using the binary version available at www.texmacs.org. But the new version seems not to recognize my keyboard, so I am unable to type any special chars (which renders the editor useless for me, as mostly of my texts are in portuguese). The terminal shows an error with iconv:

As far as I can tell, all fonts are showing up properly. I am using linux mint 17.2 with cinammon, and the keyboard is "portuguese (Brazil)". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
