I’m not sure it is possible. I’m not very knowlegeable about Windows. I was assuming that running the program from the terminal (calling directly the .exe file) would redirect the output there, I do not know if there are other ways to redirect the output to some file.

Anyone?

I saw this message only now, but it is still ok, as in the other computer reinstallation did not solve the problem. I suspect now that if I first install the build of Philippe Joyez, then reinstall the "official" build it will work.

But I need instructions on how to get error messages on Windows. Running the program from the terminal does not let error messages be displayed in the terminal, and the suggestions I found online do not achieve what we want. So if you or someone else lets me know whow to run the program to get the error messages I'll be then able to do it.

Before proceeding to reinstallation try to run from the terminal to get possible error messages, please.

I reinstalled it now and afetr reinstallation it works with the version downloaded from http://www.texmacs.org/tmweb/download/windows.en.html as well.

I will try reinstallation later with another computer where I have the same problem.

It could be a problem related to temporary files. Could you please check that, if you reinstall TExmacs from the official installer you will get again the same problem? Just to be sure to understand where it comes from. Thanks!

I appreciate your efforts to help me out.

When I do like you show in the images, I do not receive any prompt (neither on the bottom, nor as a pop-up window).

But now I have installed TeXmacs compiled by Philippe Joyez and his version works - I can close documents now.

Perhaps the "official" version on the TeXmacs website should be substituted with an updated one?

means you can go to User preferences and change "Look and feel" option
If you choice Emacs option the process is different.
you need to use ctrl-x ctrl-c than type yes on the bottom than press Enter key to close.

For me closing documents does not work with none of the "look and feels".

I have also tried to switch the location of the interactive questions (from the footer to a pop-up window) but there is no interactive question coming up by the "close document" command.

Does not close window?

I guess you are using the Emacs look and feel.

You have to type yes and hit enter at the bottom.

Hi:

I have installed the last version of texmacs and i find very unconfortable the
new version does not close window or individual documents.

I have tried to generate the automatic installer from slowphil github in
search for a new version with the bug solved, but the system does not generate
the exe file.

I am using windows 10. I would really appreciate any help.

Cheers

Pedro
