I just noted that the proposal has been deleted from area51. I didn’t get any
notification of that, but maybe it means that there were not much activity…

The proposal has been closed after four months from its start, as it did not reach the minimum number of
upvoted questions; now it has been also deleted. In case it had been succesful at the first phase
("Definition"), the following phase would have been harder I think as the "committed
users" must have a minimum "StackExchange reputation", and to get that takes a substantial
amount of work which may be very unwelcome for many people.

As I see it now, a nice and functional forum at http://forum.texmacs.cn/ can
be a strong asset for TeXmacs.

Why not just use the TeXmacs subreddit?

IMHO it does not have the nice organization of the forum at http://forum.texmacs.cn/
