It is not difficult to move it. As far as I know, the only difficult thing we have to do is to migrate the data.

Can be done using the following steps:

1. Freezing forum.texmacs.cn (make it readonly or stop it)

2. Migrate from the digitialocean instance to Bonn

3. Un-freezing forum.texmacs.cn (restart it)

4. Config forum.texmacs.org

5. Finally deprecate forum.texmacs.cn

The digital ocean instance located in US. If cloud is not a concern, just skip 1,2,3 , and the steps can be simplified into:

1. Config forum.texmacs.org

2. Deprecate forum.texmacs.cn

Sometimes, forum.texmacs.cn is not accessible in some areas of China. If we move the service from digital ocean to

the fixed server, I think the accessibility of the service would be better.

 we have now our own fixed server in Bonn and in US. Maybe we can move the instance in Bonn, this will then run in one of our machines, handled locally and not in the cloud. Would it be difficult to move it?

The Discourse instance  currently runs on a digitalocean Ubuntu instance. The only thing we need to do is to change the domain name.

I think this could be an easy fix, indeed. For the moment. Ideally we need to make the forum more istitutional and bring it into the texmacs.org domain.

Of course, we can potentially host such a list.  Two points though:

- Should the target group be French teachers or all French TeXmacs

users?

- A long time ago, we had such a mailing list, but it went inactive
