Thanks. It seems to be a nice solution to this problem. Your method is
to achieve the symmetry
goal in the area of the desktop. It is possible that one needs to
hack/improve Texmacs source code to achieve symmetry in the area of
the Texmacs working window when it is maximized.
Maybe there is a need to ask this question in the developer mail list.
