Hello

I have the same problem.

Can someone explain exactly how refererence, label and  numerotation work
(for équation)  and coexist (or point to a doc that do).
How does reference and number of an equation are coherent ?
Where to place label for working in coordination with numbering ... ?

For a little experiment i have done, i observed the following

case 1
placing label after the number of an equation of equations
placing label after the equation for a simple equation
mixing the two , it works

case 2
placing label before or after the equation of equations
placing label after the equation for a simple equation
mixing the two , it doesnt work
