Dear Joris,
Thank you very much for your response.
However, I have two new problems (now that I know what to modify) :
- I cannot save the modified source file (even if all other texmacs windows are closed, or if I try to save it as a new doc), which is a real problem...
- I can only find one 'new-dpage*' tag in the source file of "tmbook", which controls chapter titles. However, I can't find the tags which control doc title, list of figures, table of contents... I believe those are controlled by the main style "book", but when you edit its source code, you only have one line : "title-book|header-book|section|book". How can we edit 'title-book' for example ?
Thank you very much for you time, help and dedication.
Nicolas.

Dear Nicolas,
One general thing that you may do is the following:
select the tmbook style and do Focus -> Tmbook -> Edit style.
If you are interested in modifying the way page breaks are inserted
for chapter titles, then you should look for all chapter-related macros;
you will notice that there is a dedicated section for this in
the style file tmbook.ts. In particular, you may spot the tag 'new-dpage*',
which inserts a 'double page before'. You may check this by placing
your cursor behind the tag and looking for the contextual help
using Focus -> (New double page before) Describe.
Replacing 'new-dpage*' by 'new-page*' will only insert simple page breaks.
Removing the tag altogether will suppress page breaks before new chapters.
Best wishes, --Joris
