Hi Alvaro & Darcy,

Thanks for your pointers to the existing works towards converters.

I am still puzzled on how these things work for, e.g., wikipedia.
Indeed, if there exist high quality converters between Markdown and,
say Html + MathML, then there is no reason to re-invent the wheel.

I looked at 'pandoc', as suggested on this list, but noticed that
the results are very poor on existing wikipedia pages (I tried to
convert the page on the Gamma function to Html and to LaTeX).
Maybe I am missing some important options, but in that case
the documentation is poor.

But maybe there are better tools?
