Dear Alex,

Please find included 3 small Texmacs documents I produced, each with a short text and a single simple black and white figure, obtained as marked either from a pdf (310 KB), a png (77 KB), or a svg (121 KB) file.

The Texmacs document with the svg figure takes an eternity to open, several minutes on my IBM X41. Scrolling a document if several figures are present becomes also almost impossible, also with png. Printing quality is perfect for the chosen pictures, but their fine line-width present problems on the screen in Texmacs documents.

svg from Inkscape (2.1 KB !) is of the same quality as svg from OOo (121 KB) for the above line-drawings, but Texmacs cannot import it.

If you need a file with several figures, let me know, including the file type for the included figures. I will then produce one with figures of a smaller size.

Many thanks for your interest in the matter - it would be great if Texmacs documents could be opened with numbered legends of figures included, but not the actual figures.

Best regards,

Werner Hug

<>Hi,

Is it possible for you to post a file that exhibits this problem? I would
like to try to write a macro that would walk the document tree and
deactivate all the images.
