hi

Each time you open a document in Texmacs, a buffer (a part of your RAM) gets created and the contents of the document's file gets copied from the disk into that buffer ("loaded"). When you edit your document, this buffer gets changed by your actions. Upon writing the document, the contents of the buffer gets copied to the disk again ("saved").

If you open several files, each receives its own buffer.

ok thanks for explaining.
i have found the "go" menu where all the buffers are presented.
but i dont understand what it represents and what is the aim
because i read you, and i understand that there must be one buffer for one document; that is to say one buffer for each window. So why would there be an other buffer at the background ? But maybe it is a bug as Joris says:

There recently has been a problem with "buffer not saved" messages
even when the document was just saved. It has been corrected on
the SVN version of TeXmacs. Please update if the problem persists.

ok Joris

i dont really know how and where to donwload the svn version of Texmacs.
i suppose it is the name of the last update
i will have a look on the website
anyway, the buffer's problem has appeared one or two times and since then, i did not encounter it.

Vincent
