I have had time to think about this and I am able to be synthetic: I think it would be a good idea to make it as easy as possible to join the fun. Of course it is necessary to know a little bit, but for example one could ease the first steps for those who want to write some macros for TeXmacs; right now it takes some patience (and help from the developers at least in my case) to find out the necessary steps.
