An easy way to find where it is defined is just to look for that string in $TEXMACS_PATH. There are several instances, the most important is in $TEXMACS_PATH/packages/header/header-article.ts and it is a macro definition
<assign|cite-website|<macro|<localize|This article has been written using>
GNU <TeXmacs><if|<equal|<value|language>|french>| ; |; ><localize|see>
<hlink|<with|font-family|tt|www.texmacs.org>|https://www.texmacs.org>.>>
GNU <TeXmacs><if|<equal|<value|language>|french>| ; |; ><localize|see>
<hlink|<with|font-family|tt|www.texmacs.org>|https://www.texmacs.org>.>>
so to change it at the level of a single document you can redefine the macro in your preamble. A more permanent redefinition (at the user level) is to copy that file into $TEXMACS_HOME/PATH/packages/header/header-article.ts (create the directories if necessary) and modify it to suits you.
Note that if you want to support localization you have also to add correct translations of that sentence, see e.g. $TEXMACS_PATH/langs/natural/dic/english-dutch which contains
("this article has been written using" "dit artikel is geschreven met")

Although it's a minor point, I'd like to edit the text to read:"This article was written ..." instead of "This article has been written..."Do you know where the code for the command which produces the citation is?Best wishes,AntonioOn Sun, 8 May 2022 at 09:07, Massimiliano Gubinelli <address@hidden> wrote:Hi,I think it is appropriate to use the citation alternatives already pointed out in this thread (via the focus bar at the document level). In particular "cite texmacs website" produces a footnote "Made with TeXmacs" with a bibliographic reference which reads"J. v. d. Hoeven et al. GNU TeXmacs. http://www.texmacs.org, 1998."This is what I usually adopt, see e.g.It seems to me ok that, if you want to cite TeXmacs in the acknowledgement section of a paper, you just put there something like"This paper has been written with the GNU TeXmacs system~[XXX]" with the same bibliographic reference or just with an inline equivalent mention."BestMaxOn 6. for that?
I don't know.
