Why change the name ? It's one of the only soft we get at first research : put texmacs in google and you get it !
For example : maxima sage axiom are damned name :)
In google you never get the right soft with those names !
How stressing it can be for example to look for RLC maxima axiom .... They bring you anything but right search !
tex is fine in texmacs so we know what is about !
I am not an expert in texmacs that why I like it, to write maths physics it comes near "naturally" and that 's what i expect from a wisiwig other wise I would choose another none wisiwig latex things !
I am translating and making some articles with texmacs (translation too) though I believe most people using texmacs speak english ?
well thanks again to all those who are making such an excellent soft :)
I use it on linux.
regards
Henri

Supplemental: If you really want to change texmacs' name (to get rid of the tex
connotation), I vote for TeXmacs -> TechMax.

Peter.

Dear TeXmacs users,
Tomorrow is the final day of the TeXmacs workshop.
A few important issues will be discussed in a dedicated session. Joris
has put forward a questionnaire to guide the discussion. To sample the
wishes, interests and ideas of TeXmacs users we would welcome the
opinion of all of you who could not make it to Faro.
Here are the questions*:
! What would you like to happen with TeXmacs?
* three most important point
* then summarize in just one
! What are the most important bugs?
* three bugs
* one bug
! What would be best for TeXmacs to become adopted?
* three points
* one point
! How to organize TeXmacs as a community
* three points
* one point
! What kind of documentation would you like to see more?
* three points
* one point
! How should TeXmacs be publicized
* Name change (or not): three suggestions and one suggestion
* New website, new general graphical design (logo?).
! What do you think you could contribute?
* three points
* one point
Cheers,
Álvaro Tejero Cantero.
* whoever is interested in looking at the names that have been
proposed already please make yourself a user in http://tiddlyspace.com
and send to me privately the id so that I can authorize you to see the
private pages in http://tamiz.tiddlyspace.com. You can suggest new
names; in that case using the letters 't' and 'm' is of interest to
ease the transition process.
