- I indeed donated via SPI in 2013 (tm website doesn't reflect ;)). Back then I used a credit card. It now looks like Paypal is possible (perhaps it was also back then).
- It's a US entity, donations are in dollars. I would be interested to know how much goes lost in transaction fees due to (two-times?) currency exchanges (plus payment processing fees).
- It allows for one-time payments (this might or might not be good, Liberapay is recurring-only).
- It is project-bound, which is different from e.g. liberapay being person-bound (that said, it may well be that a donation to SPI ends being a donation to Joris).

Altogether SPI seems like a good option, but it would be advisable to find out about transaction and admin overhead vs. e.g. Liberapay.
