OK, now the cause of your problem is clear : your TeXmacs
doesn't include JPeg support.
I am building this from the
CVS sources, and don't recall setting any options do disable other
images.
This is probably because the ./configure silently disables
it when he sees that libjpg (or some lib like that) is not
installed on your computer.
Perhaps installing some image lib & redoing ./configure
would work. Currently, we would need to see what is the
name of the relevant lib : if you have time available
to do another ./configure, one could probably get
this information from the output you get (on the
shell screen) from ./configure, and then try to
find & install this lib, & then redo ./configure,
make et al., and see if you now get a support
for Jpeg.
