since it seems that as Henri pointed out is a problem of the pdf dialect gnuplot produces.

The version of gnuplot you are using generates
PDF 1.4, and it seems that TeXmacs handles only
PDF 1.2 as far as the printer output is concerned.

So it is in fact a problem with the PDF
dialect TeXmacs understands :-(...

This is probably the kind of stupid problems
that could be solved by changing a few lines
in the code, but it is difficult to follow
all the details of all the evolutions of
all the standards (namely, the PDF format).

Thus sometimes, problems present themselves as
bugs...

But now that this one has been discussed on the
mailing list, we will remember it, so sooner or
later, someone will look at that.

So thanks to the current thread, the problem
is half solved :-).
